TICK -TOCK Arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment. Be advised that there is almost always someone scheduled after you: therefore, if you are late it will cut into your allotted session time.
DRESS CODE for the YEARBOOK!!!
- GENTLEMEN: Must wear a collared shirt. We do encourage to wear ties and blazers. SANGER gentlemen are required to wear ties.
- LADIES: Must wear a blouse or formal top. Must be in school dress code. Minimum of two inch strap, no T-shirts and no halter tops).
- SANGER LADIES AND GENTLEMEN- NO COLOR HAIR, NO FACIAL PIERCINGS
HEY COVER GIRL! We advise you wear your makeup in your normal style. Simply apply it slightly heavier than normal. Note: Avoid makeup with an SPF in it. Although it is good for your skin in the sun, the SPF tends to create a shine. You can further control shine by using a translucent powder.
HAIR Avoid changing your hairstyle or cutting your hair right before your session. Haircuts should be made at least a week before your appointment. If you color your hair, do not forget your roots! Highlights should be touched up approximately one to two weeks before your session. Quick easy hairstyle changes during your session are OK, but make it quick or you loose camera time.
WEATHER REPORT For outdoor sessions, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature. Do not worry if it rains on your scheduled session day. We will reschedule your session without an extra fee.
BREAKOUT BLUES! No need to fret; all of your finished portraits will be retouched so don't worry if your complexion breaks out right before your session.
GOT BRONZE We warn you not to over-do the tanning bed or sun. Your skin will have a natural luster and color if you let it rest from tanning for three days before your session.
ESSENTIAL ACCESSORIES Don't forget to accessorize! Hats, scarves, jewelry, boots, jackets, belts, and coats make stylish additions to your basic outfits. Accessories contribute to a variety of looks for your portrait collections. Please note hats are NOT allowed for Yearbook Portrait.
COOL STUFF Personal props help visually define who you are. Some popular choices are: sports equipment, musical instruments, posters, pennants, teddy bears, hunting equipment, skateboards, uniforms, and collectibles. Look inside yourself to find your personal symbols; then look in your closet!
FOOTLOOSE! Don't spend a lot of time hunting for shoes for every outfit. We know many of your favorite shots will be concentrated on your beautiful face. Many other shots will be focused from the waist up. Shoes simply will not show in every shot.
WALK ON THE WILD SIDE Bring something unique. We request that you assemble a least one outfit that represents your wilder side! Be cool. Be colorful. Be a little crazy. Be fashionable. Be fab. Be fun!
SALON EXTRAS The way you wear your hair is part of your self-image. We know you want to look like yourself in your portraits, so we discourage radical changes in your hairstyle. Likewise, haircuts should be made at least a full week before your appointment. If you completely color your hair, retouching your roots is a must. For highlights and tints, make an appointment at your salon a week or two in advance of your session. Quick, easy hairstyle changes during your session are super, but practice doing such quick-changes so you don't lose time in front of the camera.
CAMERA COLORS The camera dislikes stripes, plaids and detailed prints. The camera loves solid colors and jewel tones. Black is back and it looks great on everybody. Think "creative." Think "variety." Think "outside the box!" We want you to bring several color choices so we can coordinate them with different backgrounds and most flattering sets.
FASHION BULLETIN Be your own fashion editor! Choose different styles, colors, and textures of clothing. Remember that your pictures can represent all seasons. Bring a range of clothing despite the actual weather. Do you want a variety of looks and background choices? Then, bring an assortment of spring, summer, winter, and fall pieces!
BACK STAGE BLISS On the day before your session, prepare and press your clothes. Arrange them by outfits and group them together on hangars. (Don't forget to pack the proper under garments too!) Try on the outfits. Be critical of the way they fit. Are you pleased with each "look?" If you don't like a certain "look" in the mirror, then you won't like that "look" in a photograph either. Pack your make-up, jewelry, props, and hair preparation products. We guarantee that a little preparation will make your session stress-free and fun-filled!
